Some of the Peculiarities in our culture

Each community or society has some peculiarity in way of life. More often than not such peculiarity has been passed down from many generations, and if well preserved, stands the test of time, remaining as pure and unique as was hundreds of years ago. In our country Kenya, most communities have preserved birth, marriage and funeral rituals for centuries. A child is for instance named according to the time of the day when they are born. One cannot marry from father or mother’s clan and people of the same clan have a specific direction where their departed’s heads face during burial. Those are some of the peculiarities in our culture. Anything unique in yours?
