Virtual tourism: A need to rethink and redefine tourism!

Raw and proven statistics confirm the impeccable significance of tourism on a local and global scale. Hundreds of thousand hospitality and travel service providers employ millions of people to work for them. Training institutions have wide range of travel and tourism related courses and enrolment is always increasing. Such trends explain how lucrative tourism is or can be. However technology seems to be quickly remoulding tourism. An old form of tourism that was once experienced via virtual reality is returning. AI, Digitization, Villagelization of the Globe and desire to tour via the screen are taking the centre stage. This is why I personally feel virtual tourism is becoming the next big thing. Any implications? Of course, many! Jobs could be at stake, some hotels could shut down and who knows, some economies could crumble.

Well, I do find it satisfactory to look at beautiful pictures and videos of beautiful sceneries and landscapes... But if you can afford to travel, mere pictures and videos can't beat the actual experience of being there in person.
