Why Does Buying a New Hairbrush Feel So Indulgent?

I picked up a new hairbrush today. Actually two. It was a two-pack of one for home use and one smaller one for travel or carrying in your purse. They were Conair brand and cost $6.79 for the two-pack.
I noticed my vented hairbrush kind of made my hair look more thin and fine and was getting gunk on it. I was going to wash the hairbrush but decided to research online if a vented hairbrush was the best kind for fine thin hair.
Nope, it was not the best kind. A wet/dry detangling brush with bristles was better.
So I look forward to my new hairbrushes and how much difference they will make with my hair.

I have such a hard time finding a hairbrush that I like, too.
