My boyfriend and i are watching the new It based show Welcome to Derry. It is truly all a horror fan could ask for. I am currently reading the book to help me connect the dots a little better on the show. There are so many little details that just pop out for me in the series that tie back to my knowledge of the movies. The book is much better than the movies but I still have to finish both the book and this first season of the show to be able to compare and declare which media is my favorite representation. So far the book is proving to be as brutal if not more so than the series. Ranking it as of now, movies are 3rd, series second, and book on top just because I am not even half way through it and it has been more disturbing than both show and movies, simply because it is the source material with ALL details that these other pieces are based off of. I'm learning new pennywise lore that I don't know yet if it is from the book or a creative change from the writing crew. I also absolutely love the happy cheery art work and overtones of the opening with the tiny dark twists that reminds you this is horror. I kinda wanna make it my ringtone. Do you watch?
