A Simple but Heartwarming Thanksgiving

I got really busy last week, so I wasn’t able to log in here on myLot for a few days. On Thanksgiving Day, my husband stayed home from work, and his sister called to invite us over for a small family celebration. Their place is only about 7 minutes from our house, so we drove there and spent the day with them. My sister-in-law woke up very early to cook and bake. She prepared pumpkin and egg pie, roasted chicken, cooked ham, and even made turon with meat inside. Everything tasted delicious! She also surprised me and my mom with sweaters she bought on sale for the cold weather. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really made the day feel warm and special. How did you spend your Thanksgiving or your last holiday?

That is so wonderful! It sounds like a very special holiday. We didn’t really have a Thanksgiving because everyone but my dad and stepmom had colds, unfortunately. However, I did get a nice meal since my stepmom and dad went to her family’s Thanksgiving celebration. They saved me leftovers, and they were delicious.

I’m really glad you still got to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving meal, though! Leftovers can be just as comforting as the real thing, sometimes even better because you can relax and enjoy them in peace. Do you think you’ll do a little “make-up” celebration once everyone’s healthy again?

@annierose We’ll have to wait until Christmas, which is okay as it isn’t too far away. But my sister and her family live two and a half hours away so a makeup get together would be tough to do with everyone’s jobs. But we’re looking forward to Christmas!

@AmbiePam Coordinating everyone’s schedules can be so hard, especially with the distance. It sounds like it’ll be extra special this year. I’m happy you have something lovely to look forward to
