Now they are made in a factory and bought to the store to defrost yuck I have had to take a couple back because they were hard when I cut them. Now I just make my own cakes or whatever the want fot there birthday. What about you?

It has been quite a long time since stores made their own cakes. There are very few around now. I prefer to make my own. I am a cake decorator as well as an artist. So, I have lots of fun designing it, and then eating it.

Except from a couple organic bakeries nearby, I don't like to buy cakes. I'd much rather make my own and know that it's fresh and healthy. I also enjoy decorating cakes in creative ways.

I still laugh at these stores that have a bakery within but still bring their pastries etc. in from another company.

I prefer to make my own too, I think I'm safer doing that than trust a cake that is made at some factory.

I worked for 9 months in an in-store bakery. The reason the stuff is old, or dry sometimes is, they leave cakes out to sell for 7 days! We had to put a date on the stuff for when we had to pull them off the shelves and that was how long we put on there! So! If you want to be sure it's fresh, I guess you have to order it. Of course...that was about 10 years ago. I now work in a cake shop and we make our cakes every day.
