Man, I'm glad the in-laws are patient...

What a doofus. I hope this guy doesn't regret having me walk his dog. I don't know what I did, but I turned a wrong corner to get to the dog park, and then when I tried to get back to where I started I got turned around again. Finally I got to a place I recognized--the post office, and by that time it was nearly time for me to get Dashi (the dog) home. I called Manuel's father in law from there (he'd said before if I needed picking up I could call) and explained to him where we were and that I'd gotten turned around. He came to pick us up, and then when I said I could take the bus home from there, he said no, he could take me home. On the way he told me the way I could go next time, and said, "You went too far north." I didn't have the heart to tell him that we never made it to the dog park. The dad-in-law was very nice about it, which made me feel less like a dummy, but I still felt like a dummy. The little gal (Dashi the dog) got a good walk in, anyway.

You met a good Samaritan that time. I know you're appreciating it much.

I doubt I would have told him I didn’t make it to the dog park either. And you’ll get the hang of it. At least the dog spent a lot of energy on the walk!

Thank you, I think I'll be able to now that the FIL showed me a better way to go.
