Advent Reading, And an Unexpected Loss

It’s been awhile I know, but I thought I’d take a moment to write, tomorrow my friend M and I are doing the Advent reading because we had two that could not do it! I’m a bit nervous about that, but more than anything our entire Church is grieving one of our head ushers, but he was so much more than that, he helped pick up and provide food for the food pantry, but yesterday afternoon I got the call saying he had unexpectedly passed away! Just Sunday we were laughing and joking as he teased us about how terrible the men were at cooking but of course they weren’t the food was good, and we enjoyed the time at the Christmas dinner, not knowing that in just a matter of days we’d get news that he was gone! I spent the late afternoon and early evening reaching those on my Deacons list to share the news with them! It was far from fun, I hated sharing it with my two of my closest friends who had experienced loss like this themselves, but as is there way they encouraged me even as they themselves were grieving and M, offered to help with phone calls! But now we are going to have to figure out a way to explain this to the kids who all knew him, while going into Sunday School!

That’s terribly sad. Our church went through something similar last month when a Sunday School teacher passed away. Sunday morning he was doing Sunday School, and by 5pm that evening he had gone to Heaven. I pray you all will be comforted.
