Running a business is never just about sales—it’s about building connections. Recently, my friend Jam Vasques initiated a raffle for our shop, Printing King, and it turned out to be more than just a fun giveaway. It became a way to bring cosplayers together, support their craft, and show how we can all help each other grow.
We gave away 100 pcs coscards worth PHP 150 per set (front-only prints, glossy type) to lucky winners. Coscards are more than just printed cards—they’re a cosplayer’s calling card, a way to share their art, connect with fans, and leave a lasting impression at conventions. By offering these sets, we wanted to give cosplayers a boost in showcasing their creativity.
Why this kind of promotion matters to me? Community support, I may say. Cosplay thrives when we support one another. This raffle was our way of giving back to the people who inspire us with their costumes and performances.
Also, by enticing cosplayers to like and follow our page, we’re creating a hub where they can access affordable, quality prints. While the raffle offered front-only prints, many cosplayers may want to upgrade to back-to-back prints or other premium options. This not only helps them stand out but also sustains our business so we can keep offering promos like this. Kinda like sales boost, as I may also add.
This initiative reminded me that gimmicks like raffles aren’t just marketing tricks—they’re community builders. When businesses and cosplayers collaborate, everyone wins. It’s also a proof that when friends and community members step in with creative initiatives, we can achieve something bigger than ourselves.
Have you ever joined a raffle or promo that helped you in your cosplay journey? Or maybe you’ve organized one yourself? Share your thoughts in the comments—I’d love to hear how these small acts of support have impacted your cosplay experience.
