I Missed the Ceremony… But Not the Honor.
Last December 7, 2025, something incredible happened—I was awarded the Certificate of Excellence at the Valiant Excellence Awards, held at Camelot Hotel, Philippines. The recognition was for Excellence in Performing Arts & Entrepreneurship, a title that still feels surreal to me.
As an online DJ for an AM station (DZME 1530), I’ve poured my heart into every broadcast— sharing stories, and connecting with listeners across the country. It’s not just about playing tracks; it’s about creating moments, building community, and using digital platforms to keep the spirit of radio alive.
But here’s the twist: I couldn’t attend the ceremony.
Yeah, due to important matters at the shop and my unstable health at the time, I had to make the difficult decision to stay behind. It was bittersweet—knowing something special was happening, yet not being able to witness it firsthand.
Still, the universe had other plans. Just five days later, I received the award in my hands. It was given to me and a copy of the award was also sent so I had it printed in our shop and put it on a decent frame. Holding that certificate and trophy felt like a quiet triumph.
To me, this is a reminder that even when life throws curveballs, your efforts don’t go unnoticed. I am forever grateful with these kinds of opportunities.
Have you ever received an award or recognition during a time when life was complicated? Maybe you missed the ceremony, or maybe you didn’t even know you were nominated.
Share your story in the comments. I’d love to hear how you felt, what the award meant to you, and how it impacted your journey.

Nope but I'm glad your award was mailed to you. The universe has a way of paying us for our efforts.
