New "Dark Year"

Here in Western Kenya, the year began with a heavy downpour accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms from around 3:00 am to 6:30 am. This caused a blackout in our area which was corrected and power restore at around noon time 01.01.2026. How did your new year begin?

I hate it when the electricity goes out. I was asleep when midnight hit, but the fireworks woke me up. I realized it was the new year, and turned over and went back to sleep.
