Happy New Year Everyone! Let me just say it's been a rough last year and we're hoping for better this year. We took our week long trip back home. It was so much needed. My niece is absolutely adorable and I can't wait to see her again. I introduced her to anklets now so...yeah lol. Sorry, not sorry. We now have to get everything put away. We had to spend Monday running a couple errands that we only had yesterday to get done. He was off work and I was off so it needed done. Bankruptcy is almost settled. I just have to pay the court fee and it'll be over. The relief is insane. Now we can put gram's house in our name come summer. We had our first full day back on Sunday we jumped right back into our life. Sunday was the department meeting where I found out I actually have a fighting chance to get station commander this year. I'm still not holding my breath but there's a chance. Monday was the errands and the final bankruptcy paperwork. We got the rest of the travel stuff put away also. Settled down and got to work on figuring out how to issue CPR cards. Turns out we had a massive miscommunication but we're working it out. Today, I'm back to work for Chris. It's not all bad as I'll be working online then probably on my crochet. I'm starting a blanket for a friend. The baby blanket is done I just need to "sew in" the ends. I have a few orders that I need to do from Christmas. To be fair I did tell everyone that it wouldn't get done because they ordered them like a week before Christmas. Along with those orders though, I've jumped into Valentine's Day. I wasn't here for New Year's so we skipped that. I'm still working on the yard sale stuff. None of the sales that were supposed to pick up did yesterday so we'll see what happens today. I warned those people as well that I went back to work so it'll be a later pick up. Some answered and some didn't. The more I can sell though the better we'll be for the bills. I'm still reading the Seven Rings by Nora Roberts because I was too preoccupied to read while we were away lol. I just glued that DC puzzle this morning even though it's been done since before we left. I have another one picked out already. It's a big Mulan one that will probably drive me crazy but that's ok. I started new things again. I rediscovered my love for latch hook and got a beautiful dragon rug that I'm about a quarter of the way through. I work on it a little every night just about. Oh and that reminds me while we were up there, mom took us up to see the "family" tattoo artist lol. Yeah he does hers, Norman's and did Jordan's the last time he got one. I will be getting one in memory of my dad and he did an awesome job figuring out how to get everything in. He just did a quick mock up but I love it. He said I can't have the fingerprint because for it to be right and not look like a blob down that line it would have to be a lot bigger than what I wanted it to be. So I accepted that. We can't use his handwriting because there wasn't enough letters in his signature to duplicate anything. I accepted that. He got everything else though and I'm happy with it. He's even going to keep it on my arm and not my shoulder. I would have lived with the shoulder but I wanted it on my arm. That was a lot wasn't it lol. I have to say that for everything that's happened, though I still have moments, we're looking towards this new year as a fresh start to just be what we want to be and do what we have wanted to do. Trying to be optimistic is rough lol. What's everyone else up to today?

Thank you for the update. Today cousin #2 is coming over; and I also have someone coming to give me an estimate on some work I want done.

Sounds good. We're going to have quite a bit of work done at my grandmother's old house but we need to finish cleaning it out first

It was worth it. Every penny I saved and the help we got from a few friends, worth every bit. I can't wait to go back this December.
