Let's Be Clear About the Oil in Venezuela

There's rumors going around that the U.S. is stealing oil from Venezuela and the whole capture of the convicted felon Maduro was about oil. Wrong. Chevron Oil Company made a deal with Venezuela many years ago and PAID for the oil and oil drilling rights. But under Maduro's dictatorship they were denied access to the very oil they'd already paid for. They're just getting back what was owed them and already agreed to and paid. Now regarding oil . . . Venezuela has more oil and gold underneath it than Saudi Arabia and Texas but Maduro wouldn't let the people mine it because then they could become rich and overthrow him. He wanted them to stay poor and under his thumb. Again, don't believe everything you read in the headlines. The media deceives. Social Media definitely slants things and repeats sound bytes that are false.
