Lately I’ve been noticing that so many people are doing vlogs or YouTube videos, and it got me really curious ?? I’m wondering if anyone here on myLot is into vlogging or running a YouTube channel? What kind of content do you make? I’m especially interested in how you actually get started as a beginner. Like: What camera or phone do you use? Do you need a special microphone? Is it okay to start simple, or do you really need fancy equipment? I’m not planning anything big yet, just thinking about trying it out and learning along the way. I’d love to hear your experiences, tips, or even mistakes you made when you were starting out. Looking forward to your thoughts! ??

I am! I have a YouTube channel focused on inspiration and motivation, so I don’t really use any special equipment. I mostly create Shorts, and I only have one long-form video so far, though I do plan to make more. I started in March 2025 and honestly just decided to begin using what I already had — my computer is over 10 years old and definitely needs an upgrade, but it works for now. You don’t need fancy equipment right away. If you really want to start, there’s always a way to do it with simple tools and improve as you go. My growth has been slow, I’m at 331 subscribers but I genuinely enjoy creating inspiring content, and it motivates me to keep going. I’m really glad I started my channel. So if you really want to start one, then go for it. Stick to your purpose, why you want to create a channel in the first place. That would be your motivation to begin and keep going. More importantly, decide your niche. As you said, you can learn along the way, that's how all creators started. They just learn along the way though some may be lucky to have help and guidance from others perhaps. I just learned everything myself as I don't have anyone to ask about it. So many information out there in the net that helped me a lot, even YT itself has so many videos about how to start a yt channel! Same info you can tap to learn how to begin creating your own. I really don't have much tip to give you as I'm still learning too. I wish you good luck!

Nope, I tried, but its a no. hehehehehe... Any cellphone with a good camera will do if you don't want to buy expensive camera, and as for the mic, there are lots of good brands that are being sold in Tiktok - but I don't know in your country. First thing is, know what you want to blog, is it about studying, about life, etc., coz it is hard to create videos when you don't know what your videos for and who are your target viewers.
