having read online that electricity fluctuates specially here in this country. that refs now easily gets problem after two years because it damages the main board and the compressor of the ref.
old refs usually don't have this problem but we got rid of ours it looks old and had some screws and hinges problems.
I have searched online to determine the avr to buy. i learned its not only the rate power input I need to calculate but also to include or add the defrost input.
so i thought 500 avr watts was enough for my 70 watts power input. but with 140 watt defrost input, i need like 1000 watts avr.

I went for the 1500 watts. I read online to multiply by 3 the wattage of the machine. That's why I got that bigger watts

@May2k8 yes, I have noticed that there is a light on
Red light on over voltage. Green light for power, and no light for under voltage. What does it mean.
The back side isn't powering any more which has four120V outlet. Only the 110v outlet is working which is at the front
But then this is the old avr I am using for my TV. I think this avr has this problem even before.. A steady red light. That not all outlets are working every time
The new one that I bought which ihas bigger 1500 watts is the one I'm using now for the refrigerator. Which is doing fine. With only the green power light is on.

@hotsummer In my experience, the electricity entering the AVR should not be lower than 140v and should not be higher than 250v because that can also damage the components in the AVR.
If the AVR makes a buzzing sound or feels hot when held, it is best to remove the AVR first because there is definitely a short and the output from the AVR is higher than recommended.
There should be at least a voltmeter at the output before connecting it to other electrical equipment.

Thankfully I got a good brand. My refrigerator is now plugged into that avr now. A salesperson of another brand tried to get a cheaper brand but I refused. I went for a trusted brand

Yup, with an AVR, your fridge has a much better chance of surviving those random power cuts.
