Need to buy a new phone as the phone went dead

I used the phone till it reached zero percent. I Iimmediately plugged in the charger. . It did charged for a minute then i turned on the power button and it went into DOWNLOAD MODE. But then it would keep turning off again as it wont charge anymore. The phone has been acting strange already prior to this for a few days. But then, I was able to use it despite some strange problems showing up. But its unusable now . I hope that I can still power it up
