We Have 9 Days to Move the Mother In Law Into the Memory Care Facility

United States

The Board of Directors meeting isn't until January 21st so we can't do anything until the financial approval is given, and we need time to get a proper size bed for the mother-in-law, so we'll be scrambling with details the next 9 days preparing mother-in-law for her next move. The Memory Care Facility suggested moving her in on the 22nd, but that's too soon. They advise to move her while she's in the frame of mind to agree to moving and also because she scored so poorly on the cognitive exam (her Dementia is rapidly getting worse) that it's for her own safety that she move as soon as possible. We haven't told mother-in-law yet about her move date. We're letting the dust settle today before we bring up any more logistics or details.

It's a balancing act for sure. But, you might want to tell her sooner rather than later, because she'll likely forget you said it five minutes after you tell her.

that's so sad, I'd hate to be in that state of mind & be put in a place where people just forget your even alive.

This is ongoing for a while, isn't it I think you were looking at places last year weren't you?
