The Last Few Days….

….Have been cold, brrrr lol. Happy Monday, everyone. My last few days have been okay.
On Friday, my younger sister, our best friend, and I took some food up to our best friend’s house. She doesn’t live in the city and lives alone, so we wanted to ensure she had everything she needed before the winter storm hit. We also picked up a few last-minute things for our own homes. Places were crowded, but whatever, we survived.
Obviously, I didn’t do anything over the weekend. The storm didn’t hit until overnight on Saturday, but my brother-in-law wasn’t going to risk moving his van and losing his parking spot. We live in the city with street parking, so we don’t have a driveway or anything like that. Our street is also an emergency route, so cars had to be moved elsewhere or they’d be towed. Therefore, driving wasn’t happening on Saturday. It’s fine, though, we had everything we needed. I did place a Walmart+ order (I’m using a $1 trial) for delivery later this week, but we had everything we needed to ride out the storm. While the roads may be better later this week, my brother-in-law is having issues with the van, so this makes it easier for everyone.
I’ll be working from home all week. It’s not going to get above the 20s all week, so it’ll be questionable how much ice melts. I cannot risk carrying my laptop to the coffee shop when some blocks may still have ice on the ground. I’m still paying it off, so yeah. I’m hoping to head back next week, though. In the meantime, I’ll save money by making my own coffee at home.
If there’s too much ice on the ground, I’ll be skipping Trivia Night, too. I don’t care about snow; I care about slipping on a sheet of ice. I’m hoping it’ll be better by Wednesday, though. Trivia Night is one block from my house, and attending will keep me from going stir-crazy, lol.
Otherwise, I’ll focus on my writing and survey sites during the day and my hobbies in the evening. I want to get back into journaling. I also think I want to rearrange my desk again, but I’m not sure how I want to do it yet. Furthermore, I want to go through my notifications on here before they expire.
I also need to FINALLY go through Mom’s stuff to donate. I guess I should tackle that this week, while I’ll be home in the evenings, and we can take it the next time we head to the thrift store. *Sigh*
Alrighty, I’m going to wrap this up. I want to get this writing order done soon. You all stay safe (and warm/comfortable) and take care.

Hiya
Can I ask a question
Do the authorities not put salt down on the sidewalks to melt the ice and snow?

That was really nice of you guys to bring her things she might need so she wouldn’t have to worry about getting out in this mess.
I’m not getting out until I have to, on Wednesday. I cannot afford to slip and fall on ice. My back problems would just get worse. I’m already hoping my doctor appointment Wednesday will be changed to a telehealth appointment. It’s a 35 minute drive (on a good day) on streets that will still have snow, as well as ice from the re-freezing all week.
Then again, maybe I’ll go nutty being inside too much! I’ve already been doing craft projects I never thought I’d do.

That was so sweet of you to do that for your friend. I am sure she appreciated it a lot.
We live to far to get a delivery of groceries from Walmart

It’s hard knowing when the right time is to donate things of your loved ones. No rush!

Best of luck to you with your writing, Back in the suburbs of Latvia where we lived along most streets were boxes which in the winter were filled with salt so people could take the salt and sprinkle it on the sidewalks as they went along,
