So, I know I watch too much YouTube. And I remark on them as well. Normally I don't go correcting too much because normally I don't have to.
However, this one video the voice said that Stalin died in 1943. I replied: Stalin died in 1953 not 43. That was 2 weeks ago.
Someone said that it was weird the editor didn't catch that, and several people responded to the comment.
Then a week later this one person posted: Stalin wasn’t his real name.
Anything else you’d like to add? Lol
Okay... I didn't care about people talking about why it wasn't caught, but I did have to respond to that comment.
I wrote: (name of person) as horrible Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili was, there were a lot of things that happened in 1953. Well, they started the year before as all good things do. Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili, okay, going to call him Stalin because that's what he officially changed it to, died in 1952, George 6th died and Eisenhower was elected POTUS. Queen Elizabeth was immediately the Queen, but not crowned until 1953. Eisenhower was sworn in as POTUS in 1953. Nikita Khrushchev became the First Secretary. Oh, and I was born...
And I really didn't think more about it. Nothing from the original commenter... and then today I got this message: great response lol.
Well, I have to say, that made me happy. Someone went through the responses and I think basically they were saying "You Win!"
What would have done? Did you like my response?

I probably don't respond to videos every day, but then there are those days when I respond to a lot of them. Despite not being fond of recent history, I do have a minor in History in college. Granted last year marked the 50th anniversary of graduating from college and a lot of history has passed since then.

@ElicBxn That I understand well. It is just right that you respond since you have a background on the content

I watch YouTube mostly tutorial and review ones only. It's very rare for me to comment on something at all nor do I read peoples comments on the videos.
These days, I try to avoid making comments on social media because there are people who will always say something against what I have to say. It stresses me out and these days I don't need that at all.

I sometimes watch those. I mostly like the miniature channels. You see, I'm 72 and I'm trying to cut back on things I need to make and just go with the entertainment of the program. The program I watched was "How Germany DeNazified" The date was near the end.
Am I going to watch it again to see if it got changed? No.

I kind of suspect he was trying to shed the idea that he wasn't born powerful. As for pronouncing the name... the first is the Russian, version of Joseph. In Russia, and probably most of the other Slavic speaking areas, it is common to say both the first and middle names. And the middle names are normally a version of their father's name. Oh, the things I've learned from fandom.

You didn’t just correct it - you gave a full timeline and dropped the “oh, and I was born” like a mic drop.
