Older Famous People

One type of list I make on (my list site) is a list of older people who are famous. Right now, I'm listing the age group of humans in their 70s, and this particular list included: Reba McEntire (who looks great)-70, Richard Dreyfuss-78, Robert Plant-77, and Richard Gere-76 One thing that money or fame or power cannot fight off is old age. Time is the most precious commodity we have and so much of it is wasted on frivolous and unimportant things. "Why, you don't even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." James 4:14 My trust is always in Jesus Christ.

This is a thoughtful post. Age really is something no one can escape, no matter how famous or successful they are. Time moves the same for everyone. As a Muslim, this reminds me that life is temporary and that our time here is a trust from God. We often spend too much of it on things that don’t really matter, and old age has a way of waking us up to that reality. I respect your faith and your trust in Jesus Christ. Even though our beliefs are different, the reminder is very similar: life is short, and we should use our time wisely, with purpose and kindness. Thank you for sharing this reflection. It’s a good reminder for all of us.

What a sweet and kind comment. I am so glad that we can have different beliefs, and still treat others (as you have treated me) with respect and kindness. Thank you for commenting.

@misunderstood_zombie Thank you so much for your kind words. I truly appreciate the respectful and thoughtful exchange. Even with different beliefs, kindness and mutual respect can always bring people closer. Conversations like this are a good reminder that understanding and humanity matter more than our differences. Wishing you all the best, and thank you again for the lovely response.

That is right. We should spend our time on things that matter.
