What do you wish you’d known before getting married?

This goes along with my earlier question about what you wish you knew before having kids. Hubby and I got married 19 years ago this May. Even though we were in our 40's and had been married before, we took a 12 week pre-marital class at our church. It was actually very helpful. It talked about handling finances as a couple, sex, personality types, etc. I think what I wish I'd known 50 years ago when I got married the first time was that marriage takes effort and work and doesn't just "happen"

I wish I knew my ex was a narcissist-wish I knew the red flags to look for back then. However, if I never met him I wouldn't have the 5 children I was blessed with.

I think I knew everything, which is why I never got married.

I wish I had known that my first wife had had 5 terminations before I met her.
