In many parts of the ancient states in India pan or betel used to be the symbol of love. An ankush paan in the shape of an equilateral triangle if given by the man to the woman it symbolized they want to have romance at moonlight. The kaushal pan used to mean I want to live with you for ever. The pan in red cloth meant I want to spend entire life with you.
