Technically I'm really late with this review but I swear I'm catching up.
Legacy is the first book in Carrie Ann Ryan's Ashford Creek series and it follows Felicity and Callum. Most definitely a romance with a twist of drama.
Age gap and best friend's little sister tropes. Some of my favorites lol.
Callum is an ex-nfl player that had to stop playing due to an injury. He was married before moving back to Ashford Creek and lost her due to a brain bleed. Not many remember that fact as he never talks about her but always remembers her. Callum hasn't felt for any woman since...until Felicity.
Felicity should be completely off limits. She's his best friend's little sister and he's too old for her. Not to mention he's all wrong for her, in his eyes he's not good enough.
One night changes everything.
After turning 21 Felicity goes out with a few friends on a group date. She didn't want to go but she got talked into it. Turns out however, one of the guys had one thing on the mind, the one thing she wasn't giving. When Felicity says no, he gets violent and the first person she could think to call was Callum.
Callum went no questions asked. He saved her from a possible sexual assault and took her home. The day after Callum went to check on her and she was in little shorts and he just couldn't help but kiss her.
It was just a kiss but it changed something in his head. He still wasn't allowed to touch her but he couldn't stop thinking about her.
Now she's an accountant in town and they keep running into each other. Makes sense since it's a small town and their families are close.
What happens though, when hands can longer be kept to themselves?
Thoughts come alive and fantasy was no where close to reality.
Can the couple learn to navigate small town gossip, family expectations and old enemies that just don't seem to want to go away?
Love this book! It didn't take me forever to read because it wasn't good because it truly was. I can't wait for the next one, it will follow Callum's brother Bodhi and the drummer in their deceased brother's band.
The end chapter definitely has me hooked already. Super excited.

Sounds like a good read. I have several books I want to read; but it bothers my eyes.
