Why is India's government education system deteriorating?

In most government schools and colleges in India the standard of education has deteriorated. Their infrastructure too is not being maintained. For appointments bribes are taken and ill qualified teachers are appointed. These teachers are busy making money through tuition or misaapropriate government funds. The political leaders send their children abroad for education and therefore neglect the Education system in India. This is just injustice towards the Indians.

That sounds very alarming. Not long ago there was a scandal in Hollywood where a couple of actresses paid for their children to get in a prestigious college, but it isn’t thought to be an every day thing. But in my state, in lower grades of education, we are sorely lacking in competent teachers, and therefore, our students fall behind. Our state doesn’t pay teachers well, so the good ones go to other states to teach. It’s a huge problem in my state.

In India government teachers are well paid but they don't teach. They don't even go their schools everyday. While private school teachers don't pay well and therefore good teachers don't go there.

So sorry to hear that. I think there's so much wrong with the education system in America as well which is why I chose to Home School my children. Grateful that's allowed here.

@aninditasen They do mostly online curriculum (NOT through the public school), however they read the Bible & horse books and they write in workbooks as well for handwriting practice.

In India government school teachers use unfair means to get the job. While the private school teachers are ill qualified as the payment is law.

In government schools the partially and qualified teachers both have to give bribes for their jobs. While in private school because the payment is low nobody wants to work as a teacher there.

It’s a real concern. Clearer policies, better teacher training, and stronger investment in infrastructure can rebuild trust and improve the quality of public education.

The government in all states is busy laundering money. Both the ministers and the government officials in the education department.

Education level is deteriorating because of the politicians and some dishonest people who are turning education into a business.
