Rice and pilchard for tea ….

So, thank you for your suggestions for my tea.
I decided on rice and pilchard.
I had plain boiled rice with tinned pilchard, in tomato sauce.
Oh my days, I haven’t had that for years, but it was delicious.
I had forgotten just how good it was.

Chicken soup and tomato soup are the only ones I buy. I make all the others.

That sounds tasty and nostalgic—there’s something really comforting about simple meals like rice and pilchard!

We had sausages with boulangere potatoes (made in the slow cooker) and broad beans and sweetcorn. I'm working my way down the freezer; unfortunately we're left with more and more things that it's difficult to use on an ordinary day - 4 or 5 bags each of gooseberries and jostaberries, about 7 tubs of redcurrants (even though we've been eating all of those all year already!) and then there's a big pork joint and a whole duck!

Oh! Pilchard not pitchard. It's fish!!! No thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had Meals on Wheels stuffed shells, succotash, spinach and garlic bread.
