what good thing will Trump's 10% global tariff bring to America?

February 22, 2026 8:16pm CST
Is president Trump trying to protect America goods with his new global 10% tarrif? I doubt it. Americans will surely bear the burden of increased prices that such tarriffs will bring to them. Other countries will surely reciprocate this gesture and there will be more chaos.

Here's my point in this situation. Supporters of Donald Trump argue that higher tariffs can help protect domestic industries, encourage local manufacturing, and reduce reliance on foreign supply chains, particularly in strategic sectors. From that perspective, it is about increasing the United States' long-term economic resilience. At the same time, critics express legitimate concerns. Tariffs can raise costs for importers, which are frequently passed on to consumers through higher prices. There is also a risk of retaliation from trading partners, which could harm exporters such as farmers and manufacturers. Trade tensions have historically caused uncertainty in global markets. Finally, the real question may not be whether tariffs are entirely good or bad, but whether they are targeted, temporary, and balanced enough to protect jobs while not imposing an undue burden on ordinary citizens. The impact, as with many economic policies, will most likely be determined by how they are implemented and how other countries respond.

according to what I have been reading and hearing that Tariffs raise costs for Americans. That other countries are backing off. China trades with more nations and can't suffer by the tariffs...only America can and are are suffering. Small businesses in the US are closing.

It is hysterically funny how stupid Trump is. The prices went up for Americans. Not for most of the world. It is simple if you have facts. American companies buy goods from other nations, bring them to the US and pay the tariffs which are passed down to the consumers.. Americans have had prices go up and many US businesses closed. Sure makes America great...huh?
