Olympic village runs out of 10,000 condoms in 3 days

The ongoing winter olympics seems to be witnessing some bizzare events following a revelation that more than 10,000 condoms have been used since the games begin and organizers are looking for ways to get more condoms into the olympic villages. Is there an unofficial sport going on there?

That may appear to be an odd event happening during the Olympics, but I believe the stress of the Olympics creates an opportunity for people to vent their frustrations through another activity. I suppose that is a valid reason for it. They don't want to get pregnant, so this is the safest way to do it. That is why the surge occurred in that location.
