My Hair Turned Out a Totally Different Color Than Expected

I colored my hair 6 weeks ago and saved the box top to remember the correct color of "Spiced Plum" which I really liked.
So I bought another box a couple of weeks ago.
Used it last night.
Hair isn't the same color.
Looked on the box and on the top it says "Spiced Plum" but on the front it says "Violet" something.
So my hair ended up a much more vibrant off shade of red than expected.
Thankfully I can live with it but I don't know why the hair coloring box had two different color names on it. I'll be more careful next time.

The photo loading wasn't working all day - apparently it's fixed now since I woke up from my nap. I will work on snapping a picture.

I don't want to attract attention to myself by using crazy hair colors, but if you like it, all that matters.

It's not that attention-getting, it's actually fairly common reddish auburn, but it's not what I was expecting
