Have a look on this fruit. Do you have a name for it in English or in any other language of the world? I'd be happy to know. This tree came with the plot of land I bought to build my house. I didn't know what tree it was. However as time passed I saw some little fruits on its tender parts of its branches. I tasted the fruits. It was a mixed taste of sour and sweet. It reminded me of another fruit we had in our tea estate house compound. Those were long, 3 to 4 inches. They used to be green when raw, light red when they were getting ripe and turned black when fully ripe. These two trees perhaps belong to one family, differing only in the shape of their fruits. This particular tree on our piece of land had shed all its leaves soon after winter. So much so, I was afraid that it was going to die. But as spring came new leaves sprouted and new fruits appeared. Yesterday, to my joy. I found some ripe fruits on the tree. Somehow, this year the tree is bearing more fruits than the previous years. Here is a photo. Have a good look at the tree and the fruit and make your valuable observation.
