I’m currently listening to New Kids On The Block’s “Hangin’ Tough” album. I’ve listened to it so many times throughout my life that I can use it for entertainment or as background noise. Hangin’ Tough was released on August 12th, 1988. I never knew the date, just the year, but my younger sister turned one that day lol. I was a whopping three-years old. I didn’t become a Blockhead until 1989, yes, at four years old. Hangin’ Tough was most likely the first album of theirs I heard, even though they had another album (titled "New Kids On The Block") a few years before. If you’ve EVER heard anything by NKOTB, you’ll most likely recognize the songs from the album. Here’s the tracklist: You Got It (The Right Stuff) Please Don't Go Girl I'll Be Loving You (Forever) Cover Girl I Need You Hangin' Tough I Remember When What'Cha Gonna Do (About It) My Favorite Girl Hold On It’s one of my top favorite albums, and no, I can’t choose a favorite track. Hangin’ Tough is one of those “no-skip” albums for me, and I’m SO GRATEFUL that they still perform a lot of these songs during their concerts. Some songs are usually part of a medley, and others are performed in full. Now, in 2018, NKOTB released the “Hangin' Tough (30th Anniversary)” album. It had the same tracks, plus a few remixed, and then three brand-new songs: 80s Baby The Way Boys In The Band Yes, I own both the original and anniversary editions on CD. My brother bought me the original way back when, and I ordered the anniversary bundle (it came with the digital tracks and a t-shirt) when it was released several years ago. I really want to hear the original songs re-recorded, which I THOUGHT Donnie mentioned on one of his online “lives,” but I’m not 100% sure if or when that’s going to happen. I love their current, mature voices, and I’d be willing to purchase ANOTHER copy of Hangin’ Tough if they re-recorded the tracks. I honestly have no idea why I decided to give you all a mini history of this album, but it was kind of fun, so maybe I’ll do it again sometime lol.
