I Was So Ashamed, But....

Today I couldn't go out for my early morning walk. I couldn't get up at 5 a.m..When I got up, it was 12.40 p.m. Actually I was very very tired. Completely exhausted. Last evening we had walked to a park 20 kms from our place. By the time we got back home, it was 1.45 a.m.. I headed to bed and slept within seconds Today morning I got up too late. The time was 12,40 a.m. I took a bath hurriedly and rushed to open the shop. I found it already open. My father was managing the shop. I was so ashamed to face him. He saw me, smiled and said only three worlds, " It happens, my son. No problem."

It does happen Quite often and to many people Your father was correct. If you didn't get home until 1.45am Why did you even bother going to bed? Maybe you should have simply stayed up and then gone to work at 5am

Thank you. When I saw my 80 year old father working hard at the shop, I was very much embarassed. It never happens.Everyday I get up early in the morning, leave for a long walk and back home manage the shop. Last evening I and my friends walked more than 20 kms and got completely exhausted. I assure you, it will never happen again.

Thank you. I can't recall the time when my parents scolded me. My father and my mother both are very sensitive, soft spoken persons. They talk in the same way while talking to the poorest man in the town who lives two kms away from our place.

It happens when you're overtired but your father is very understanding that he opened the shop in your absence.

@Shivram59 It's not easy for a person of 80 years to manage a shop alone. I appreciate your father for it.

Thank you. Yes, I was very very tired .Otherwise I get up at 4 a.m.every morning. My father had nuloticed that I returned home too late last night. Thatsywhy he asked my wife not to wake me up and let me sleep. He went to the shop and managed the shop till around 1 p.m. I saw him working hard there and was shocked.

I’m sorry you feel ashamed, but you are only human. A very successful one, at that. Ignoring your need for sleep could have made you sick. But what a helpful dad you have!

Thank you, my friend. You are right. I have a very loving father and a loving mother. They know I'm not lazy. I overslept last night because I was very tired. Walking 20 kms and as many kms back is an exhausting work. I was completely exhausted. I didn't even have my dinner, fell on bed and got fast asleep within seconds. In the morning it was shocking to seebmy old father working hard at the shop. But my father patted on my back and smiled saying," it happens, my son." After an hour I found my father reading s book.
