Miami QB Not Only Let Go....

Miami's Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was not only informed that he was being let go from the Dolphins on Monday but he turned around and agreed to a one year deal with the Atlanta Falcons. Tua has been with the Dolphins since he was drafted in 2020 as the round one fifth pick. He'll be in his sixth season, made the play off's once but couldn't win it. We'll see what he can do for Atlanta. That gives them two left handed QB's in Tua and Penix Jr who is recovering from injury. Kirk Cousins will be released at the start of the league season. How are my Atlanta Falcon and Miami Dolphins fans feeling right now? *info from ESPN

I read on the ESPN crawl at the restaurant (they have it on the TVs in the bar area) that releasing Tua is leaving the Dolphins nearly $100 million in cap debt. I have to wonder why they didn’t try to trade him first. (Or maybe they didn’t “behind the scenes” and got no offers). As for Tua, he hasn’t been the same since the concussion. At some point he needs to put his life (and the quality thereof) first.

@JordanLader — smart decisions seem to be lacking in the sports world. The St. Louis Cardinals are basically having a triple-A baseball team take the field this year because they dumped many of their stars. One of the most iconic teams in baseball, with unquestionably the most loyal and knowledgeable fan base, isn’t even sold out for opening day yet. People are badmouthing the Dodgers, but that’s the business model, isn’t it: you’ve got to spend money to MAKE money.

I wish he would. I honestly thought that when they said he was in danger that he would retire but he didn't. I believe that was last season. As for why they didn't try to trade him, I'm not sure. It would have made more sense. Doesn't seem like a smart decision.

The Falcons fans, in my humble opinion, have done nothing right in the off-season. To me, that also includes new coach, Kevin Stefanski.

Stefanski is not a bad coach. I think he may have a had a few bad seasons but he did quite a bit for Cleveland. They just couldn't keep it up. I'm not saying he'll work miracles for Atlanta but maybe a trick or two.

@JordanLader No, he’s not a bad one at all. But I don’t like him for Atlanta.

I wish he would retire but he doesn't seem to want to. Too many hits to the head
