Have you got your ears pierced ?

I have got my ears pierced ….i can’t remember how old I was when I had them done. I think I was at college. Unfortunately, I did leave the earrings out and the holes closed up so I ended up having them done again. By that time I was working.
Some people have their daughter’s ears pierced when they are babies ….i don’t like that look, and I think it’s too young.
Some folk have several piercings in their ears …i just have the one.
I have some lovely earrings and I do love wearing them…..
I have some with matching necklaces .

My parents made me wait until I was ten years old before getting my ears pierced.
I don’t like parents getting their baby’s ears pierced either. They (the children) should be old enough to decide whether they want to put up with the pain before they get a piercing.

I agree the children should be old enough to make their own mind up.
Did it hurt when you had your ears pierced ? I didn’t feel anything either time !

@Traceyjayne I wear simple studs everyday. I change to more fancy ones if I go out for special events.

No I don't. As a teenager I wanted my ears pierced but my mother wouldn't let me, she thought it was 'common'. I remember arguing that the Queen had her ears pierced, and she said 'Well of course she does, it wouldn't do to risk losing those diamonds!'
Anyway once I was 18 and could do it I somehow didn't, and now I never have. One thing that put me off was that I sometimes get little lumps that develop inside my ear lobes; they go away again but I was worried that any injury might trigger some sort of reaction. I did meet a friend of a friend who had a big lumpy growth on his earlobe after getting it pierced and that was not a good look at all.
Anyway I now have a good stock of comfortable clips and have learnt how to make my own earrings so I have lots of clip-ons when I want something.
