To err is human. So the saying goes. We all make mistakes. Quite many people repeat their mistakes . Some go on making them again and again for some reason.
Isn't it wise to realise our mistakes and rectify them? Isn't it right to correct our mistakes or take steps to avoid them?
Yesterday, I made a huge mistake. It was a Himalayan blunder, so to say. Last evening, I forgot to lock the back door of the house I'm trying to build for my family. The sad result was that some farming instruments were stolen. When I went there this morning I found the back door open. How on earth, did I leave the door unlocked! I always check the door before I leave the site. How could I have left the door unbolted!
On reflection, I realised I was slightly disturbed yesterday. I was not fully focused on what I was doing. I went to the backyard perhaps thrice for different purposes. When I left the site, I was not happy, not in peace. That was my mental state which must have caused this mishap!
I was sad to lose two farming tools. Two sickles costing about Rs 500 ( approximately 6 US dollars). Not too much some would say. Nevertheless, they were useful to me and now I must buy new ones from the market ..
What did I learn from the mistake? I realised that I must double check the doors if they are locked. I must be a hundred percent sure of the safety of my house.

Sorry about the theft, but glad it wasn't something more expensive. I am sure you will be more vigilant next time.
