I got home maybe half an hour ago. I came in, and then went out to check the mail. the only things in my box today were cupons from and oil change place, and something about "LifeLine Screening" being in my area. No bills, at least.
Today didn't go badly at all. I did my first project with the kids today, and four or five of the girls seemed to really enjoy it.
I had cut the legs a bit long, and one of the girls folded the legs in half and glued one side to the back of the ladybug body I had cut out so that her ladybug stood up.
She then proceeded to ask if she could trade the one she made for my example.
I was very happy with how that went. There were several other kids in the room who did not do the project, but like one of my co-workers said, it's not how many kids do it, it's how much the kids who do do it enjoy it.
I enjoyed being with the ones who did, myself.
Another of the girls who did the project with us also went to make a rubber band bracelet (the rubber band jewelry is very popular with these kids). At one point she came to me and asked what the first letter of my name was. I told her, and she went back to the rubber band table. The next thing I know, she comes back to see if the multi-colored string of rubber bands she made will fit around my wrist, and goes back again. When she came back the last time she had a multicolored rubber band bracelet with a cube "S" bead on it. I feel like I've been accepted to the "tribe" now.
I'll take photos of these goodies as soon as I can. Tomorrow I'm taking my phone to the "fix it" store.
Right now, I'm thinking about what to have for dinner.
Hoping everything has gone well with you in your part of myLot land!
