We are going back to the Moon

So America are going back to the Moon tomorrow even though half of Americans think they haven't even been yet. Whilst the Earth spins at a mind boggling 1000 mph plus the Moon can only manage 10 mph. One rotation is 27.3 days. Because the Moon's rotational speed exactly matches its orbital track to the Earth the same side of the moon always faces Earth. Only 24 people ( and Pink Floyd) have seen the dark side of the moon. This is why we have tides as the Moon's gravity pulls the oceans up a bit here and there. There are so many things and coincidences that needed to fall in place for Earth to create and sustain human life and thats one of them. I have been in AMerica for two shuttle launches. The first one we were quite close and go the full hit near the Cape. Second time I was in Orlando watching the launch live on TV at 5am on my own in a hotel. I swear to you it appeared in the sky behind the TV window as it went up on its way, a surreal experience. Artemis 2 sends the astronauts on their journey tomorrow and we can only wish them well. I'm sure Trump will claim they may decide to go to Mars as well on the same mission. Lets hope its not hit by one of Elon Musk's stray rockets or satellites. It's a big rocket and will need significant thrust and speed to find orbit, pushing 18,000 mph. Orbit is when an object slowly falls back towards earth but at an angle so it always tumbles parallel to Earth so retains in orbit. It will take ten days to get there after a couple of circuits of Earth to slingshot them on their way. They will travel the furthest ever away from Earth by a human being - unless there are no Turkish barbers on the Moon - some 4700 miles beyond the Moon. They won't land on it for some reason. Will it go wrong? It's highly possible. There were heat shield issues on Artemis I. It's a very expensive distraction for Americans from Trump's idiocy but also the beginning of an epoch journey to find another planet to live on when we have ruined this one.

With all the strange things going on in the world today I would not risk a trip to the moon but I hope it all works out for those astronauts,
