I dont like this software. i use MS FrontPage for HTML, for other i use NotePad.

Dreamweaver is the standard and the most widely used Webpage Editor. If your more into opensource/free software NVU is the closest thing to Dreamweaver.

Dreamweaver is great enough to design web site. I usually using this software or Frontpage to design web site. about the programming languge, I use PHP or ASP to build web application. and for database application I use SQL server. it's easy to access SQL database using ASP or PHP so your website can perform and handle database application.

I think Dreamweaver is good for designing the website.It is like Frontpage also there are many features available in Dreamweaver.it depends on individual if he feels comfortable with which tool.But I think Dreamweaver is equally good.
