28 Days Until My Next Vacation

United States

I haven't traveled since October of 2025. That's a long time for me. I got sick at the end of January with a sinus infection and upper respiratory infection, so I had to cancel a Feb. 1st trip. So it's 28 days until the next one. This is my FREE cruise. I just had to pay taxes, port fees, and gratuities. It's with my usual travel friend, who is my sister-in-law. It's out of Miami, Florida making stops to their new private island called Celebration Key, St. Thomas US Virgin Islands, and Nassau Bahamas I think. I'm looking forward to it. Except as @xFiacre knows, the flying part. Especially now in the USA with TSA still not getting paid and the long delays and cancellations at major airports.

TSA still isn’t getting paid? I’m not sure why, but I sure thought they were. I guess my brain went on vacation. You’re going to have so much fun!I look forward to hearing about all the cool stuff you see.

This sounds selfish, but I sort of need a break from all of this mother-in-law drama and responsibility. It's been a LOT. Yes, yes, of course it's worse for her than me and I shouldn't feel sorry for myself (which I don't) but I really could use a break about now.

@LooeyVille What you’re saying is true, but it doesn’t make your feelings any less valid. It doesn’t make your stress any less real. I hope you can just go, relax, and take in the beauty that surrounds you.

I thought they were being paid now. They were supposed to be. It isn't in the news anymore.

@looeyville And now European airlines are saying that I 3 weeks their fuel supply will be precarious if the oil doesn’t start flowing again. Big price jump for travel I’m supposing.

That sounds like a well-deserved trip especially with everything getting so expensive these days. At least on the cruise you can relax and not think about fuel prices or TSA stress
