I hate my neighbor's pond!

Sorry for the negative post, but that stupid brown pond that looks like a mud puddle. Thank goodness they don't live next door to me but down the hill a bit. It is crazy..most people have nice greenish ponds. I don't know what went wrong with this one..dredged too much, not enough no idea. They put a nice statue by it..and some decoy ducks that look real..but the pond is only 10 yards by 10 yards if that. They put a beach area there..but they never bothered to replace any sand which is sparse now. They have like two boats beside it what a joke..any fishing could be done from the bank. They have like a stationary barbecue grill the latest thing is a picnic table... Instead of spending money on junk I would put some money into making that pond look decent or fill it in. It detracts from the property value. Furthermore you never see anybody sitting beside it or using it..why would you when you have a big beautiful lake less than half a mile away. I feel bad for them in a way, but mostly I feel bad for those of us who have to look at it.

It sounds like a complete eyesore to me, and not only ugly, but gaudy to me. Hopefully, they will realize it and fix it.

Sigh! They haven't yet. They have had this thing about 12 years by my recollection. Still looks as bad, actually worse with all the crap around it as it ever did. At least they are down the street and not next door. I don't have to look at it everyday. I know they are capable of tasteful displays, their Christmas lights always look nice..they have a blindspot about this pond I think.

@snowy22315 Yikes! 12 years! I thought they just put it in. Best not to glance at it. My copy cat neighbors put up a neon orange soccer net or whatever which looked hideous. Thank goodness it kept falling down over and over, because they removed it. What an eyesore!

It must be quite a sight. It’s a shame they don’t show a little pride in how it looks by maintaining it better.

Someone should slip a natural pond maintenance book into their mailbox. They aren't terribly hard to maintain, but you have to have the time to do it on a regular basis.

Good idea .I think they may have security cams around..I don't want someone coming up here to bawl me out..or complain I invaded their privacy or something.

They obviously don't know how to maintain a proper pond

It has looked bad from the beginning..The guy has some kind of heavy equipment operation going on .you would think he would be able to properly dig a pond. There has to be a way to fix it, but they need to take the time to work on it instead of buying more junk nobody is going to use. It's embarrassing.

Someone should advice them to take care of the pond

I am kind of surprised the development is permitting that..but the HOA here has limited authority, and for the most part that is good.
