The Cold War was in a way an important era in world history. There was no fighting, but the two protagonist the United States and the USSR did shadowboxing. In early 50s the Russians did not have any plane that could strike the United States and Joseph Stalin instructed Russian designers to design a plane that could reach the United States with nuclear bombs.. The result was the TU 95 also given the nickname The Bear.. it was a long range heavy bomber with ECM and ECC measures. This plane had a range of 10,000 miles and could reach the United States.. As friends know, I spent time in the airforce and I have seen this plane on a visit to Russia, where it is still in use. It's a beautiful machine but now it is outdated but the Russianss still keep it. The plane is part of aviation history, and even the Americans give it a lot of respect..
