Do You Know How Many Calories You Need To Eat Each Day?

Your body requires a certain number of calories just in order to function, walk, talk, and be active.
There's a calculator tool (multiple of them) on the internet to help you know how many calories your body needs to maintain weight, lose moderate weight, and lose extreme weight.
I'll use my husband's statistics as an example. He's a 63 year old male 6'3" 245 lbs.
In order to maintain that exact weight he'd need to eat just under 3,000 calories per day (2,918 to be exact). If he wanted to lose a moderate amount of weight, let's say 1/2 lb to a pound a week he would need to decrease to between 2400 and 2600 calories per day. If he wanted to lose 2 lbs a week it would be 1,918 per day.
