*Sings* This Is How We Do It!

I was checking my email today and noticed I had a writing invitation on one of the platforms I use. It’s not the one I use weekly, but I do use it occasionally. I read through it and was interested, so I went to accept it. But alas, it said it wasn’t available for my writing tier (level), which meant it was only available for writers at a higher level. My first thought was, “Why was this sent to me then?” But I also decided to politely and professionally reach out to the support team. I explained the situation and then let them know that if any other writers didn’t accept the job by a certain time, I’d be happy to do it. You know, step up where it’s needed. They told me they’d talk to the team in charge of it and get back to me. A little while later, I received an email that they had moved me up to the preferred level, and I could accept the job! I’ve been working on this order for the last few hours, just taking a short break to post this. It’s a rush order with a 12-hour deadline, so I have until a little after midnight. But I don’t want to actually rush through it. I want to take my time and ensure it’s just right. It’ll be in before the deadline, so I’m not worried. There’s always a risk when choosing to work with a new (or new to you) client. You don’t know if they’re going to like the finished product or not. On this particular platform, writers receive half of the total payment if the order is rejected. This is so they’re not doing all that work for nothing. However, I’m really hoping this client likes the order. It’s not just about receiving the full payment, but it could also open the door to future work with this client. Plus, I was moved up to the gold level, so I want to show that I can handle work at that level. I could’ve just shrugged and said, “Welp, it’s not for my writing tier,” and moved on. But when I looked through the order instructions, I knew I could handle it. If you think -or know- you can handle something, it’s okay to ask. The most you’ll hear is “no.” I wanted the chance to try because I knew I could do it, so I took a risk and emailed support. They moved me up, and here I am. So, that’s my little win for today. I wanted the order; now I’m working on it. Now, I’m going to eat dinner and feed the dogs, and then, I’ll proofread the order. I'll be back for one more post, I just don't know when at the moment.

It varies, but the one I'm working on now is in the lower triple digits. I just hope they'll like it.

@Ineeddentures Thanks! If they reject the order, I'll at least get half of that. But I'm really hoping they accept it. I worked hard on it and wanted to make a good impression.

Cool. Maybe your capability was for high level already, it is cool that they are looking at your skill equall to those in high level.

"Maybe your capability was for high level already" ---- thank you!! I honestly appreciate that! Sometimes, I second-guess myself and need to hear it.
