The reason Melania Trump was so upset with Jimmy Kimmel's joke is because it isn't a joke.
Everyone knows she married Trump for citizenship and money. Before marriage she was a 2nd rate porn star. After marriage she's the wife of the US President.
She never expected he would live so long.
She stays as far from him as possible only being at his side for some fancy dinner or meeting, then races away until the next event.
She has been looking forward to widowhood for over a decade.
Which is why Kimmel's uncovering of her 'secret' enraged her.

Living purely for practicality has its quirks. She bailed on reality and built herself a comfy, secure bubble. But happiness and contentment are a whole different ballgame. Seems like she’s just biding her time, waiting for the grand prize, playing the world’s longest game of “hold my coffee while I get what I really want.”

@jaylar It’s understandable why she holds on to her position, as there are plenty of opportunists who would jump at the chance to take what she’s enjoying now. She’s likely more focused on protecting it for her children’s welfare than on her own well-being. I’ve seen many in similar situations, simply safeguarding their children’s future and waiting for the inevitable day when the game of time reaches its end.
