Are traditional rulers still relevant in your country?

In many parts of the world, traditional kings and queens are still highly revered but that is fast getting out of relevance today. There has been renewed calls to abolish the British monarchy but in Asia and Africa, there seems to be a strong regard for traditional chiefs. Are traditional chiefs still relevant in your country?

@ogbenishyna44 Not all rulers were bad and there were benefits. Now we have so much division and not just between parties but people that it democracy doesn't really matter. If the person you don't want to win wins, it must be rigged.
There is no winning situation really.
