Putin says the war against Ukraine is coming to an end

May 13, 2026 1:38am CST
At the last military victory parade day in Moscow, president Putin declares that the war on Ukraine is coming to an end very soon. One wonders why the war was conducted in the first place, and thousands of lives and properties have been destroyed. It doesnt make any sense!

So, what’s the outcome of the war? Was it in favor of Russia or Ukraine? It doesn’t seem like they succeeded, as Ukraine’s government is still intact. They may have dropped plenty of bombs, but they never toppled the government. I wonder if this war will even count as an achievement in his legacy. All it really did was damage their own economy through heavy sanctions, which could have been avoided and used instead to strengthen the country economically, rather than waging a war with no real gains.

I think Ukraine lost more people than Russia in the war.

@ogbenishyna44 I believe not only Russia lost more people, has had to virtually abduct those from Kenya and other parts of Africa to shove in the front line. This is because the people don't agree with the war. Russia doesn't need more land. Putin thought it would be a quick win not a long humiliation

@ogbenishyna44 It doesnt matter who had more casualties the thing is Russia failed to topple Ukraine government and is still standing and fighting with very little resources to protect itself. But they didn’t back off and continued to fight as much as they could.
