Rich Friends, Poor Friends

A friend of mine is a millionaire and another is from a very poor family. Both are my intimate friends. Some of my friends, who have big businesses, often ask me not to befriend poor people. They say it lowers my status in the society. I ignore them. I maintain good , friendly relations with both kinds of people. Do you think making poor people my friends lowers my status in the society??

That is the way the world thinks but in the eyes of God both the rich and the poor are valuable and respectable.

Thank you. You are right. That's the way the world thinks. But both rich and people are my friends. My intimate friends. I can't make friends with rich people only. Both love and respect me.

Thank you. But those who hate those who have no money are judgemental. They judge a person only by their wealth, not by their character or qualities. I agree with you.

I never heard such a thing. Everyone has something to offer in a friendship.

Thank you, my friend. I'm glad you have both poor and rich people as your friends. I highly appreciate it. But the person who is our friend must be good and have a strong character. I hope your friends have these qualities.

I don’t understand that being some people’s attitude. Knowing people from all walks of life makes us better people. I have poor friends (technically, I AM poor), and I have a few friends who are well off. I find them equally wonderful, and would question anyone who told me I shouldn’t befriend poor people. I mean, if someone talked that way about me, I’d be upset.

I highly appreciate the way you think. I'm not poor, but not rich either. As I told you I have friends who comes from poor families, but they are of very co operative and helpful. They have a strong character. They just don't have much money..It doesn't make them unable to be friends of someone who is rich. They are nice people.
