A little away from our house, there is the house of a rich man. The man's mother is over 90 and is suffering from insomnia and can't see.The doctor has prescribed her a sleeping pill that helps her sleep. A girl from a poor family looks after the old lady. She often comes to our house. Today she came to our house and told my mother what happened last night. As she told my mother, last night the old lady asked her to give her a sleeping pill. The girl opened the plastic box and found that there was not even a single pill. Perhaps they had forgotten to buy sleeping pills The girl told my mother that she gave the old lady a grain of lentils who swallowed it. And within minutes she fell fast asleep.

Thank you. The old lady can't see due to old age. She thought she was taking the pill and swallowed it with a little water and fell asleep.

Thank you. No, it's not risky. It's just a matter of faith. The old lady believed she had taken the sleeping pill. Her faith made her sleep

The placebo effect is sometimes very effective! Maybe they can keep that up - it will be cheaper and also better for her health too!

Thank you. You used the right word- placebo effect. It was that placebo effect that made her sleep. As she's very old, she can't see. She thought she was taking a sleeping pill and fell asleep within minutes.
