Buying my son a new TV

We very rarely ever partake in Amazon Prime deals, but we made an exception this year after seeing a TV on sale for about 70 dollars. We didn't need anything big or fancy as it was for my son's room. My son used to have a TV in his room, but our cat knocked it off and broke it. The cats no longer go into his room. We used to have to separate them so one would have to stay in there, but they're used to each other now. No TV is safe with two of our cats; we have three broken TVs thanks to them, which is another reason they are no longer allowed in bedrooms unless we are in there with them and can stop them. We have to shut the bedroom doors when we leave. Our living room TV is mounted, so it's not an issue, which is good because Frankie loves to lie on top of the TV. I call the picture Exhibit A as to why my son is getting a new TV.

Three broken TV by your cats.. that must be frustrating. You are right keeping them off the bedrooms

It does get frustrating, but it's not like they do it to intentionally be pains, but it definitely means they get limited access to the rooms without mounted TVs.

Oh no, it’s definitely a hassle to have to replace your son’s TV because of your cat’s mischievous antics. But you can’t really blame them—they have no idea how valuable it is to you. At least you managed to find a great replacement at a big discount.

It's definitely a pain, but they are just cats being cats. While annoying, I wasn't mad at them. I'm grateful we finally got our son a TV. He doesn't need one, but it's nice because he can watch TV in his room while hanging out in there, and we can all watch what we want without having to agree on something.

@sissy15 Yeah, I guess you have a growing son who sometimes wants some me time, especially when it comes to TV preferences. At least you’ve given him the freedom to choose what he wants to watch in his own time.

@rsa101 He definitely likes his privacy and being able to watch what he wants. We have always been fairly strict with ratings, but a lot of that has to do with how he reacts to things, and he knows that, so I'm not too worried about him watching stuff he shouldn't. He couldn't handle watching The Birds, which is rated PG, so he knows he couldn't handle rated R. I honestly don't see him watching R-rated movies when he's an adult, because of how emotional he is about some things.

I’ve been saving my Amazon gift cards gotten via survey rewards, but have scrapped plans to buy a discounted Kindle. I just don’t need it with my phone being sufficient for everything. Instead, I guess I’ll buy the usual necessities, just on sale. I did once uss my Amazon gifts cards to buy a TV, but that was like ten years ago, when they were MUCH cheaper.

I don't usually buy anything when they do their prime sales, but we have been meaning to get my son a new TV, and it worked out that they're much cheaper than usual. I don't have anything I regularly order from Amazon; I typically only buy stuff from there around Christmas and birthdays. I ordered most of my son's Christmas presents last year. They offer a lot of unique things I struggle to find in the store, and my son is more unique in his tastes. We have bought a Fire TV Stick and an Echo Dot when they were on sale. We have Echo Dots around various parts of our house so we can easily access each other if we don't have our phones. It's much easier than hunting each other down.

Thank you, Frankie loves his spot on the TV, we have given up getting him to stay off the TV since it is mounted, and ironically, now that we don't pay attention to him up there, he doesn't jump up there as much.
