Never in Your Microwave

Found some interesting facts about what never to put in your microwave. Some if this is rather amusing because I was thinking, why would you even want to try? OK, here goes. You Cannot Make Grapes into Raisins Now if there are curious scientists out there, they might want to try an experiment. Guess what? If you put grapes in your microwave because you had a crazy craving for raisins, it won’t work. You just don’t make raisins this way. What will happen is that the grapes will ignite, and as a result of the water evaporating from the grapes your microwave will be ruined. It’s a no-go for hot peppers. Never try to char your hot peppers in the microwave. The capsaicin that makes the peppers fiery hot is volatile. In other words, what will happen is that the chemical will send out vapors, and your eye will begin to sting and your throat to burn. As for the hot peppers, they can catch fire, and that is never good for a microwave to have a fire in its belly. Don’t Stick a Kitchen Sponge in There It’s never a good idea to dry kitchen sponges in your microwave. First of all, if you heat up the sponge for about two minutes, it will disinfect the sponge but will very badly smell up your kitchen. On the other hand, if you heat up a dry sponge, it’ll ignite. Also, if you still wish to disinfect a wet sponge, be sure that you have rinsed out any dish liquid or cleaners from it; otherwise, you’ll also have bad fumes coming from the microwave.

They cannot really be 'disinfected' they are disposable. They actually only have a very short life span of useage.

We really only use our microwave to defrost buns or rolls from the freezer.
