Always check your subscriptions

So I went onto Amazon the other day to order something, and also see if my gift card balance needed topping up, and I noted two unexpected payments in the recent past. One for £10.99 in April and the other for £11.99 in May. Both to Amazon Music. Then I remembered that a while back I'd taken out a free trial of Amazon Music. If I remember right, I was hoping to find audio books to help me learn Japanese, but I didn't have any luck. So I never really used it, and I meant ot cancel it before it got to the end of the free trial period. Of course, I forgot. Shameful, and I'm supposed to be Mr Frugal these days. Obviously I've cancelled the subscription now, but I've learned a lesson for the future. Always keep a note of when free trials are going to expire and make sure you act before you end up paying for stuff you don't neccessarily want.

Most definitely. This is what prevent me from signing up for free - I might forget to unsubscribe and i might pay.

I cancel them within a day. You will still get the full introductory period and don't have to worry about forgetting.

I rarely sign up for free trials because I don’t trust myself not to forget. I’m glad you caught it now.
